Scholarship Fund

Making jazz education accessible.

At North Star, we believe music is for everyone. Our Scholarship Fund helps remove financial barriers so musicians can participate fully in ensembles, classes, workshops, and private lessons.

Apply for a scholarship

North Star Jazz Workshops offers limited scholarship support to help reduce financial barriers to participation. Scholarships are need-based and depend on available funds.

Before you apply: please complete our Community Form on the homepage and have a brief conversation with our team about your musical background and goals. If you've already done that, you're good to go.

How it works

  • Applications are accepted year-round.
  • Applications are reviewed in the order received while funds remain available.
  • We typically respond within 10–14 days (often sooner).

Scholarships can be applied to:

  • Ensembles (membership tuition)
  • Private lessons
  • Classes and courses (Foundations, Guitar Foundations, etc.)

Scholarships generally do not cover registration fees, materials, merchandise, or ticketed events unless explicitly noted.

Support the fund

Our community is powered by people who believe in making music accessible to all. Even small contributions make a real difference. You can support the Scholarship Fund by:

  • Making a one-time donation
  • Setting up a recurring monthly contribution (email us to get started)
  • Adding an optional donation when you register for your own program

To set up a recurring donation or explore sponsorship options, reach out to hello@northstarjazzworkshops.com.

Help keep jazz open to everyone.

Your contribution directly supports musicians who want to learn, play, and be part of the community.
